They Must Count Differently In Africa..

I was walking to my "Bachelor Party" Sunday afternoon, and I saw this truck parked on the side of the road.

Grace-African-01Upon closer inspection, it was for Grace African, Chicago's only Five Star African Restaurant.

Grace-African-02 They must count differently in Africa. I only see one star.

Pffft! You'd think they would have picked a flag with more stars to avoid confusion. Think about it.... if they'd picked the USA flag they could have been a 50 star restaurant! SNAP!

It is the flag of Ghana. So I suppose if you get indigestion while eating there, you would have a case of "Ghana-ria"!

Notice how it says "five star" not "five starS"

It's a five pointed star. If it was a star of David, it would be a six star restaurant.

Maybe the other stars were killed by militants.

I'm not eating ANYWHERE there is a chance of getting "Ghana-ria" thankyouverymuch.

I was in Mombasa when I was in the Navy. There is nothing "5 star" about their food... nothing.

Maybe they ran out of black paint and no one had a Sharpie.

Sorry, I've been sidetracked by the idea of an African restaurant... It's a big continent - they must have a million different types of cuisines! Imagine a "European" restaurant that served pizza *and* baguettes *and* sauerkraut!

(although if it's the Ghanaian flag, probably it's from that area and they're just simplifying)

Typical of me to make it all about the food ; )

Soda & Candy - There's actually a pretty good Ethiopian restaurant just a few blocks north. From the reviews I read of Grace African, I won't be eating there. EVER.

And aren't there basically American restaurants that you can get pizza pizza *and* baguettes *and* sauerkraut?

You told me there'd be no bachelor party in my Lie To Me post.

Wait.

oh....sneaky.

JenJen - Read today's post for the answer. But does it really count as a "bachelor party" if no one else knows it?
