The First Father's Day

Okay, technically it was MY first Father's Day.

As most of you will remember, it was almost one year ago when that Cora and I got married, and I became a dad.  Step-dad, but dad none the less.

It's been a great learning experience as Wednesday and I have grown closer and closer.  When walk into the room and she's sprawled on the couch, but raises arms for a hug, well, it makes my day.

someecards.com - I hope your Father's Day is even more relaxing than every other day of your highly sedentary existence

So, we had a great Father's day weekend.  On Saturday, the 3 of us packed a picnic lunch and some blankets, and headed over to the lake front.

My two gals.

I'm really not grumpy, just looking into the sun makes me seem grumpy.

After the picnic, we climbed the berm that separates the park area from the beach area.  We walked the long walk across the beach to the water's edge.  And Cora actually put her feet in the water.  (With the lake water hovering at about -30° F, I suspect Cora's feet felt right at home! :-) )

someecards.com - Happy Father's Day to a wonderful husband who no matter what having kids has done to my body still seems to want to nail me
Sunday, I got me some presents!  No ties.  No underwear.  But I did get some DVDs, and

Mjolnir!

Break it down, hammer time!

Attention: My next blog post will be on Sunday, July 3rd.  It will be a VERY special post.  If you can, please come back over the holiday weekend.  I don't think you'll regret it.

So you're saying you go hammered for Father's Day? Awesome.

That first ecard is hilarious.

And he walks around with that hammer all the time too! ;-)

Well, it's nice to know he doesn't drop the hammer.

LOVE the e-cards, but the 2nd one made me snort. Not that snorting is unusual for me, I'm just sayin'...

Can't wait til July 3rd! Am I going to need Kleenex?

Candy - I wear the pepper shirt often. And when I do, it's always my day.

Joshua - I hammer in the morning. I hammer in the evening, all over this land.

BeckEye - The first ecard is hilarious, but hits close to home, too.

Cora - I'm hammering out danger. I'm hammering out a warning.

Joshua - I'd hammer out love between my brothers and my sisters, all over this land. (But I'm not sure why I would hammer out love.)

So. Cal. Gal - I hope you need a Kleenex for my next post. That's my goal.

Janie Girl - I love someecards a lot. There were many that were just not appropriate. And it's a hammer of justice.

The hammer? May I BORROW that for a minute????

The cards are awesome, and I will travel to your town solely to steal that hammer in the darkness of night!

Vodka Mom - It is good for dealing with issues that pop up. When people say, "There's no cure for stupid." I say, "You haven't tried a big enough hammer." Well, now I have a big enough hammer.

SkyDad - You can only lift it if you're worthy of the power of Thor.

I think I'm safe! ;-)
