I've Been Sleeping Around

Little Boy Sound Asleep, Tucked Into Bed Clipart Two weeks ago Sunday, I did laundry, stripped the bed and washed the sheets.  I have many, many sets of sheets, but didn't get around to putting sheets back on the bed right away.  I was solidly in the middle of my Potter-mania and had to get back to the story.  Midnight rolled around, and I walked into the bedroom, looked at the unmade bed, set the alarm, and turned on my heals, and crashed out in the guest room.

Same thing happened Monday.

Last Saturday, I tore my bed apart, trying to figure out why it is squeakier now that it was in my old place.  (Oh hush!  :-)  )  It turns out that one of the wooden supports that the slats sits on is cracked a little, and a little loose.  I'm going to need to get that fixed soon.  But, Saturday night, there I was, crashed out on the guest bed again.

I have been in my condo almost one year now, and until Cora came to visit in late May, I had never slept in the guest room.  Not once.  Now I have slept there 4 nights.  3 within the span of a week.

Is this normal, or am I just a lazy freak who should learn to make his bed as soon as he strips it down?  Sometimes I will crash out on my couch for the night, just because.

Do you ever sleep sleep somewhere other than your bed just to mix it up a little?

[***UPDATE*** For those of you reading this in Reader, I have added a little poll to my sidebar in the blog.  If you wouldn't mind popping over and voting, that would be awesome, thanks.]

I've been known to fall asleep during movies in the theater, does that count?

Oh! And, no, you're not lazy. More than once I have stripped my bed down only to be too tired to put it back together, so I just grabbed blankets and slept right on top of the mattress with no sheet underneath.

It happens.

Or we're both lazy.

One or the other. ;-)

And the first time my daughter spent the night away from me with her dad I missed her so much I slept curled up in her tiny toddler bed. *sniffle*

When it's really cold, for some odd reason my favorite place to sleep is the couch. With a big down comforter.

I have no reason why anyone would ever need to know this about me.

Fascinating.

i just bought a whole new bedding set, it's like sleeping in a hotel, but way more comfortable. my bed is dangerous that way, always making me not want to get up.

Sleeping in my own bed is like a little slice of heaven.

I suspect this has more to do with missing Ms. Cora than anything else.

I sometimes sleep in the guest room in winter because it's the warmest room in the house. But not very often because my bed is so very comfy and dreamy that I would rather tough it out in there.

Any other place I sleep doesn't fit me as well as my bed, so I don't like it.

I sleep on the couch every so often, not so much to mix it up, but because I like to relive my bachelor days.

Since I stopped drinking, I sleep less on the floor now.

Also, I had the same thing happen last night. We washed the sheets and they were piled on the bed. My wife is working an overnight, so I pushed the sheets to her side of the bed and curled up under a blanket.

She came home. I got up and got ready for work. She pushed the sheets to my side of the bed, curled up under a blanket, and went to sleep.

I chose other because there was a time before I worked six days a week, where I would spend probably a good half of the week at my best friend's house. Sleeping on her couch. Since her guest bed sucks the life out of me. Seriously, it is less a bed and more a thing that came from hell, or something.

I don't sleep elsewhere because I have a Sleep Comfort bed and, OMG!!!, is it comfortable! Anything else is like sleeping on a park bench.

My man hates making up his bed. He procrastinates all day then calls me to bitch while he's doing it at 11 pm, when all he wants to do is crash. I've stopped telling him to make it as soon as he can, because if he wants to be that stupid...

i voted no. but i did NOT call you an idiot.

i like the bed. i even wake up chuck from the couch and make him go to bed if he's fallen asleep there. i feel like it's more comfortable. and i force my views and or opinions on the people i hold dear.

BUT if i had a guest room (we're not all millionaires, scope) i would probably do the same thing because i always whine about the damn sheets. that's man work.

Let's see, in the car, county lockup, haha - just kidding about those...
Um, yes couches are a nice change of pace when it's freezing outside. And if it's not, you can just really crank up the air conditioning then bundle up.

I only sleep elsewhere *accidentally*, so I voted no.

Mainly my extremely badass LaZBoy rocking recliner. It has a cupholder.

I am embarrassed to admit that my sweetie and I abandoned the bedroom to a spider.

I awoke in the middle of the night to find him standing over me with a horrified expression on his face. He was staring at a spider on my pillow, trying to decide whether to wake me or just smash it.

We fled the room (actually it was at my urging) and slept in the guest room for 2 weeks! Never did find the spider.

Twice a year I sleep on the couch and give my mother my bed. But otherwise I love my bed!
