Monday Madness

I'm having a little trouble concentrating today, so here's a little this and that for ya.

Miles To Go Before I Sleep - While I'm sure none of you remembers number 111 in my 100-4-100 post.  Well, back in early February my car had just over 39,000 miles on it.  That was before a 600 mile round trip to meet Gwen & Sass.  And a 160 mile trip down home for Easter.  And with all that, it STILL took me almost 2.5 months to make it to 40,000 miles.  But on my way back from Easter, at the end of the '6 Mile', the odometer tripped over.  Not shabby for my 2001 PT Cruiser.  But it's going to get some mileage in May.DSC00018-1AMY – A few weeks ago I broke the news about my friend Amy (formerly known as 'MFF' = 'My French Friend' = 'Amii') having breast cancer.  They are still running tests, but we are really hoping for some good news soon.  She meets her medical team at the university hospital this week, and they will formulate a plan of attack.  That's all I know, and all I will know for a week or so.  I have the impression though that once they decide to act, thing are going to happen quickly.

Her mom is a 26 year survivor.  And her mom and dad are able to help her out, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and logistically.  She's in the best hands, but I still worry about her.  Have for 18 years.  Not going to stop now.

The Joke's Getting Old – Imagine your name is 'Eric Hu'.  'Eric Who?'  'Call Who?'  'Who knows?'  Yeah, you've heard the jokes all your life.  When the same group of idiots makes the same lame jokes no less than 10 times a day, when does it get old?  Not just for you, but for them?  Seriously, I have been sitting in the next aisle from these dim bulbs for about 3 months now, and every day, the same damn stupid jokes.  I really hope he goes postal and just Ginsu's the whole damn lot of them.  And I'm sorry, if you wear over the ear clip on head phones around the office all day, even in meetings, do you REALLY have that much room to tease someone?

You are living in my random world today. ;)

Welcome.

It's nice here.

And we don't talk about the same thing very long, so it's never boring.

You have far more patience than me with the folks in the next aisle. You would have seen them walking me out of the building in cuffs on the evening news a long time ago!

I did a double shot for you yesterday. Give yourself a second to feel cool...

Done? Okay, very random post. Almost makes me feel normal. Almost.

Well, since we are being random and all, let me just say that I baked chocolate chip cookies for breakfast (yeah, that's right, breakfast), and I think you have the most amazingly gorgeous eyes, and I need to charge my I-pod, and I like "Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns N Roses (but not as much as I like "How Deep Is Your Love?" by the Bee Gees), and I love your header and I wonder how long you're going to keep it, and I hate Hawaiian pizza, and my ex emailed me a random newstory out of nowhere about a strip search (WTF?), and my internet explorer has crashed about six times already this morning, and I think I want to have a nap, and I miss you and wish you were here, and I love cinnamon candles, and sometimes I think run-on sentances are brilliant (yet other times, not so much) and I need a new address book.

*ahhhhhhhhhhhhh*

It felt good to be all randomy like that for a minute.

Now maybe I should go crank out my own blog post, huh? Yeeeaaaahhhh.

:-)

My brother, Mark, got married (in 1980) to a woman named, Mindy. Let's just say, "Hey, it's MORK and Mindy!" wasn't their favorite phrase. Their friends thought it was hilarious.

So, hey, why the extra i on Amii? Amy-ee? Female French Friends are Amie.

Also, 'ami' means "I have been loving" in Latin.

Sorry about your friend.

My boss is half Chinese, his last name is Wong. It took us a good year to stop with the jokes, mostly because he encouraged it. He said he had probably heard about every single one, but he was always looking for new material, so we should give it our best shot. And we did! My 2 personal faves are "two wongs don't make a white" and "you should have named one of your kids Sum Ting Wong". I'm going to hell.

mjenks - I never took French or any foreign language for that matter. I asked babelfish to do the translation, and that is what I got.

I've been donating to Susan Kolmen Breast Cancer research since i was 18. Both grandmothers had breast cancer and I've been taught to do the check ever since I grew lady muffins (which unfortunately for me was almost 15 years ago...yeah, I'm 27, you do the math!)

I sincerely hope your friend pulls thru and I'll be praying for her.

If you need help with future French translations, feel free to shoot me an email (or, you know, your French amie).
